I'm loving the door and window script for all the details and parameters I'm able to create to meet the design but now as I'm learning the techniques to the Sketchup model from 3d model to construction drawings in Layout, I'm wondering if there is a best practice for converting the door and window components to "architectural symbols" in Layout.

Hi Chuck,
Have been a user of instant Roof from many years ago and love your updates with the plugins.
I just upgraded by purchasing instant architecture (I'm on a mac, latest OS, sketchup pro 2017). I'm having some issues with the doors and windows plugins.
When I'm changing the parameters of a window dimension and try to input a specific dimension other than the default (say 2' 11"), I get sketchup error message saying "not an acceptable length". I'm unable to put in a specific dimension in either height or width.

Hello, first I would like to say that I love your plugin. I have just recently started using it and it works great.
I have been asked about the "rough opening" that the plugin creates to place said doors and windows. When I take my projects into LayOut and begin to dimension them, I am running into a situation where I'm not exactly sure where to "snap" for the rough opening of the window/door. I can tell when I am snapping to the trim but cannot precisely select the exact rough opening.

Could you please explain how to place a window or door in a specific location? For example, if I have a window that needs a 6'-8" head height, how do I get the window to place on the face in the location I need?
I tried drawing lines on the face to snap the window to, however the snap wasn't working.

Is it possible to change the hardware material? Seems like brass is the only option.

I have my model open. When I click on Create Door Window>In Model and click Library Style icon, I see a lot of windows and doors not in my current model. I click on Mange Styles, select Purge Unused Window Door Components, and click OK. Checking back to in In Model>Library Style, the same windows and doors remain. What am I doing wrong?

Can I change parameters after creating and inserting a window or door by editing the inserted component, without starting from scratch?

Is there a way to import windows and doors from a previous model so they can be used and edited in a new model without starting from scratch?

Hi,
I'm having trouble putting doors and windows into 250mm deep wall with 70mm cavity in middle. It makes the door component on the outter leaf but will not make it on the internal leaf? Not too sure where I need to change settings etc to show on both leafs.
I've re-arranged all walls to be within one group & it's still not working.
Please any advice would be wonderful as really struggling with this
